“#e-shram card” A Very useful and well
know scheme launched by the government of India for low financial condition
people of India. Ministry of Labour & Employment has developed e-SHRAM
portal for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW), which
will be seeded with Aadhaar. The Ministry of Labour & Employment which is
one of the oldest and most important Ministries of the Government of India is
continuously working on improving the lives of the Indian people. This scheme
is providing social security to the Labour force both in Organized and
Unorganized Sectors by enactment and implementation of various Labour Laws,
which regulate the terms and conditions of service and employment of workers.

#What is e-shram Card?
Developed
by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the e-Shram portal is built to
create a national database of un-organized workers, which is seeded with an
individual's Aadhaar. The data includes details of name, occupation, address,
educational qualification, skill types and family details etc.
#What is the benefit of e-SHRAM?
What is
the benefit an unorganized worker will get when he/she registers on eSHRAM
portal? Central Government has developed eSHRAM portal which will be a
centralized database of unorganized workers seeded with Aadhaar. After
registering, he/she will get an Accidental Insurance cover of 2 Lacs
under PMSBY and members will get a pension after the age of 60 Years.
#Objectives of eSHRAM Portal
Creation
of a centralized database of all unorganized workers (UWs) including
Construction Workers, Migrant Workers, Gig and Platform workers, Street
Vendors, Domestic Workers, Agriculture Workers, etc., to be seeded with
Aadhaar.
To
improve the implementation efficiency of the social security services for the
unorganized workers. Second, Integration of Social Security Schemes meant for
UWs being administered by MoLE and subsequently those run by other ministries
as well.
Sharing of information in respect of registered un-organized workers with various stakeholders such as Ministries/ Departments/ Boards/ Agencies/ Organizations of the Central & State Governments through APIs for delivery of various social security and welfare schemes being administered by them.
Portability of the social security and welfare benefits to the migrant and construction workers.
Providing a comprehensive database to Central and State Governments for tackling any National Crises like COVID-19 in the future.
#Who can register in eShram (NDUW) Portal?
-An un-organized worker (UW).
-Age
should be between 16-59 years.
-Not a
member of EPFO/ESIC or NPS (Govt. funded)
- You
should be a Citizen of India and work in India.

Secondly, beneficiaries must be between the age of 16-59 years.
- You
have to contribute a minimum of Rs 50 – 100 and the same amount will be
credited by GOI.
- You
should have a valid Mobile Number linked to your Aadhar Card.

Finally, make sure you have a Bank Account.
- Make
sure you have registered a Mobile Number linked to your aadhar card.
#Who is Un-organized worker?
Any
worker who is a home-based-worker, self-employed worker, or a wage worker in
the unorganized sector including a worker in the organized sector who is not a
member of ESIC or EPFO or not a Govt. employee is called an Un-organized
Worker.
#Benefits after registration in e-shram Card scheme
- In this
scheme, you will get complete insurance for any mishappening up to the age of
60 Years.
- In case
of any accident you are avail Insurance of Rs 50,000/-.
- If due
to mishappening, the beneficiary dies then all the benefits will be transferred
to the Wife.
Under this scheme, you have to contribute monthly through your e-shram Card and the same amount will be credited by the Government of India.
You can avail all the Government Schemes for Workers if you have your e-shram Card or Shramik Card.
#Steps to Apply Online E-shram Card
“Before start application processes make sure your have registered Mobile Number linked with your Aadhar Card”
I. The following
steps to register under e-shram Card scheme on yourself.
- Type
https://eshram.gov.in in on your Device.
- Enter
your valid Aadhar number Linked with our Mobile Number on e-shram Portal for
Self-registration.
- Move
forward and enter your further details as asked on the page.
Complete all the details and upload documents like Aadhar Card and Bank Account Passbook.
Finally, Click on the Submit button and wait for the processing of e-shram Card 2022.
II. There is another way to apply for e-shram Card through CSC Center located across India or in your state.
If you don’t know nearby CSC (Common Service Center) for applying for Shramik Card, you can search on e-shram.gov.in. there you will find the proper name of the Center along with address & other details. This is an offline process to get a Shramik Card.
A How can I check my SRAM card status?
The
eligible-shramiks who have applied for an Online e-shram Card can now check the
status using the adhaar number, active mobile number linked with Adhaar &
Bank Account details. After e- Shram Card Self Registration,
the eShram.gov.in portal will verify all the details which you have
provided
Ans: The
official link to download e-shram Card is https://register.eshram.gov.in By going to this link, you will have to download the e-shram card by entering
your mobile number and Aadhaar number, verifying the OTP.
